New Year, New Responsibilities

Well, I'd say I only accomplished about 1/2 my goal of drawing every week for a year - and this is why:

This little chunker was born July 9th and has since kept me busy as our third little rugrat. She's a terrific little one with a charming smile and almost 6 months old now!
I'm not sure WHY I created this goal of 52 weeks, 52 drawings during a year I was having a baby...what was I thinking?? I always put too much on my plate.
2011 may offer me some time to myself, but I'm not counting on it. :) My kiddos come first, so I must sign off and put this blog on the back burner until a time in the future when I can focus on my drawing.
Happy 2011 to you and yours!

Weeks 22 & 23

The real gruntwork has begun!
Every week I try to squeeze some time in to do some carving...

Weeks 20 & 21

Spent the last two weeks transferring this drawing...

...onto this linoleum block.

But cutting the block and printing are the best parts!
(Even though I'll soon have some sore shoulders, arms and hands...)

Week 19

Last week's quick sketch of a gorgeous calla lilly:

Week 18

Weeks 16 & 17

The past two weeks I've tried my hand at this photo of the little man:

I know what you're thinking:
Does she ever actually finish any of her drawings??
(Maybe, if I had a 3-hr. block of uninterrupted time...)

Weeks 14 & 15

Been working on tulips the past couple of weeks:

Sadly, I haven't had time to do more than some rough sketches and semi-blind contours, but it's better than nuthin'!

Week 13

Quick sketch of someone's Easter bucket:

Week 12

Started this drawing last week:

This will definitely be a challenge.
Drawing people in proportion has always been difficult for me!

Weeks 10 & 11

Slow but steady progress...

I need new ideas for drawing subjects...
